Built from the stones up

Oracle of the Sun is a prestige cinematic reconstruction of Roman Baalbek — ancient Heliopolis — at peak glory (c. AD 215–250). It is directed by research: archaeological plans, photo locks, stone color science, and Roman engineering consensus.

The film refuses ancient-aliens fiction. Columns nearly twenty meters high, ceilings dense with hex and star coffers, the Trilithon of three ~800-tonne blocks — all rebuilt as dressed honey limestone, as if finished this year under imperial funding.
